Annual Homeowners Meeting
Dear Neighbors,
I hope everyone had a good holiday with friends and family. Now we can all settle into a long winter’s nap (or as we used to call it: The Dark Ages). Since it is going to be dark and cold out for the next few months, I would encourage everyone to leave their front porch lights on at night and be sure your driveway/garage lights are not burned out.
We will be holding our Annual Homeowner’s Meeting this coming Saturday, Jan 10, at Grace Evangelical Church, from 11 - 1. We will provide a lunch of chips, sandwiches, cookies and tea or water. Please plan to attend as we will have a speaker from the Collierville Alderman Board to give us an update from the Town and try to answer any questions. We will also have some discussions on ideas that have been floating around as to changes in our neighborhood and the direction you may wish the Board to consider.
The big event at the meeting will be the election of 2 HOA Board members. Wayne Rutledge and Frank Davis have volunteered to run for the open positions. There might be some last minute volunteers also as nominations from the floor will be considered.
Don’t forget your 2026 HOA dues are to be paid by Jan 31 to qualify for the $100 reduction (pay $700). After the 31st, the dues are $800. Drop your dues off with any Board member or bring them to the meeting to be collected there. Make your check out to The Laurels HOA. You may also mail them to: The Laurels HOA, PO Box 383163, Germantown, TN 38183-3163.
I want to thank Cindy Trammell and Leigh Alvarez for taking on the responsibility of decorating our entrances for the holidays this year. We took down the Christmas decorations today, with the help of Bert and Dorrie Simms, Ron and Josie Walker, Karen Stettler, Rick Yeager and Cindy Trammell. Thank you to all who have lent a hand in setting up and taking these decorations down.
As I am not running for re-election to the HOA Board this year, this may be my last missive to you good folks of The Laurels. It has been a pleasure helping our neighborhood become the premier place to live in Collierville. Thank you for all the support you have given to me and the Board and volunteering when needed to help out. I will see you all around the neighborhood.
Jim Stettler
