Neighborhood News
Dear neighbors,
I met the renters of the Tate’s home today. They are Hispanic and the husband does not speak much English. They have a business (Mr. FixIt) doing repair jobs for rental properties but said they would love to work for any of our neighbors who might need something done around their home. They do carpentry, flooring, painting, bathrooms, plumbing, roofing and fences; just about everything but air conditioning. Their names are Martha and Fernando, (901) 658-0900, at 1923 Laurel Lane.
I would also like to invite, anyone who desires, to attend another Bourbon (or Scotch, wine or whatever you like) tasting on Sunday evening, November 16, at 7 pm. We can gather at the Laurel Knoll Circle, where we have lights and fire pits. No RSVP required. Just bring a chair, a glass and a bottle of your favorite whatever to share. I will provide some snacks and ice and water. A few good jokes are also always appreciated.
Remember to pile your leaves in the street gutter, but away from overhanging trees, storm drains and water meters. No sticks or pine needles please. The leaf sucking truck should come on Monday, but expect delays. I saw the truck come through this last Monday and it looked brand new.
Please remember all our veterans on Veterans Day this Tuesday.
Be safe and enjoy the great weather.
Jim Stettler.
